To complete the Vent First Aid badge a Standard First Aid course is required. Not only with the youth earn the Standard First Aid certification, but they will also be one step closer to earning their Queen Venturer Award.

Standard First Aid Contents Include:

> Preparing to respond
> The EMS system
> Check, Call, Care
> Airway emergencies
> Breathing and circulation emergencies
> First aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest
> Wound care
> Head and spine injuries
> Bone, muscle and joint injuries
> Sudden medical emergencies
> Environmental emergencies
> Poisons

>Any level of CPR will be added to this course and AED training.

Standard First Aid requires 16 hours of teaching. This is usually split over two days, however flexible scheduling is available to allow you to choose how you do this course. All books required for this course are provided for you and upon successful completion of the course a certification card will be issued.
